The current exhibition at Liang Yi Museum, The Secret Garden, explores themes of nature as depicted in different artistic mediums. In the December edition of our Liang Yi Talks, we are pleased to present a lecture on the king of the jungle, the mighty lion. Dominique Chan, the Head of Gallery and Exhibition at Asia Society Hong Kong Centre, will give a brief curatorial overview of their upcoming exhibition – Roaring Guardians: The Mari-Cha Lion with Traditional and Contemporary Asian Art. In his lecture, Dominique will explore how the iconography of this most powerful of animals evolved and spread across centuries and regions in Asia. It will also serve as a preview of Roaring Guardians, which runs from January 20–February 19, 2017 at the Asia Society Hong Kong Center.
