We are pleased to have Dr. Melody Chong and Ms. Rowena Kwan as our guest speakers for the July edition of Liang Yi Talks. The talk will be divided into two parts. Dr. Chong will first give an introduction to the Japanese tea ceremony including its philosophical and historical background. In the second part of the talk, Ms. Kwan will demonstrate different types of powdered tea, including thick and thin tea for a formal tea ceremony. Dr. Melody Chong is the instructor and programme coordinator of Minor Degree in Japanese Studies at the City University of Hong Kong. Ms. Rowena Kwan is an instructor of Japanese tea ceremony at the Chado Urasenke Tankoukai Hong Kong Association.
